Mobile Broker - South Florida

Susan got her start in the marine industry at the ripe old age of five, when her parents' founded "Fox River Marina" in Oshkosh, Wisconsin; one of Hunter Marine's first dealerships. Susan grew up sailing a variety of boats on Lake Winnebago, becoming a proficient sailor. She spent summers working at the family's marina, "messing about in boats" and "renting fun!" In college, she enjoyed competitive racing as a member of the Hoofer's Sailing Team at her alma mater, University of Wisconsin- Madison; where she majored in Journalism.

You may remember Susan as the former president of Florida Yacht Charters & Sales, Inc., another business she and her family founded in 1983 and managed along with her, sister, Nan, and husband, "Capt. Bob" Everhard. Florida Yacht was Hunter Marine's east coast dealer and the leading yacht charter and ASA sailing school in Miami, Key West and Abaco, Bahamas, for the past 25 years.

Susan and Bob sold their interest in Florida Yacht to an investor about three years ago. The Everhards then started yet another new marine business called "SailTime Miami" featuring new Hunter sailboats in a shared membership program. SailTime Miami also offers ASA sailing instruction; and is the local Miami base -- one of a global network of SailTime bases worldwide.

Susan's many years in the charter industry gives her a unique insight into the pros and cons of charter and fractional ownership programs; including financing; insurance; maintenance; marketing; management and potential tax savings. Susan is a licensed yacht broker and charter consultant, helping her clients with planning their next yachting adventure.

When she's not busy selling boats, Sue and Bob can be found sailing in the Florida Keys, Bahamas, and the Caribbean with their three children.

Mobile Broker - South Florida

Bob Everhard got his start in the boat business after graduating from Baldwin Wallace College in Ohio; with a degree in Communications. He and a couple of college buddies headed east to the big city lights of New York City and later started a windsurfing business on Peconic Bay in Long Island, New York.

In the winter months, he worked at a local boat yard and gained hands-on mechanical and boat-handling experience on larger yachts.

It was during a windsurfing vacation in Miami Beach in 1983; that he met his future wife, Susan Williams, and her family, the original owner's of Florida Yacht Charters & Sales; and dealers for Hunter Marine.

Not long after, Bob sold the windsurfing business and headed down to Miami. He was then hired by the Williams family as service manager and three years later, Bob and Sue got married. Bob and Susan continued to grow the business together; adding bareboat charter fleet locations in Key West and Marsh Harbour, Abaco, Bahamas. Bob was eventually promoted to Vice President and Sales manager and was the "broker of record" for the company.

After 25 years in the bareboat charter and yacht brokerage business, Bob and Susan sold the company to a group of investors.

Bruce grew up on a river in Pennsylvania and spent many of his childhood days on the water in a variety of boats and canoes but saved sailing for later in life, when he became passionate about the sport and started cruising in a sailboat. After taking some sailing classes, he and his wife have chartered many boats and bought their own in 1999 and another in 2007.
